The St. Agnes Senior Girls Choir and the Women of the Diocesan Choir, Michael Wustrow, Music Director
The South Shore Symphony, Scott Jackson Wiley, Music Director

Befitting the grandeur of its theme, the Third Symphony of Gustav Mahler is almost without parallel in its dimensions. The Cathedral of St. Agnes will resound with the glorious strains of this gigantic work as the over ninety musicians of the South Shore Symphony under Music Director Scott Jackson Wiley join forces with the adult and children's choruses of the Cathedral to bring to life this great hymn to nature. A deeply spiritual work, based in part on the folk songs that the composer so loved, the Third Symphony expresses awe and humility before the magnificence of creation. This performance of Mahler's Third Symphony will be a once-in-lifetime experience for many in the audience as well as for many of the musicians and choristers, making this a truly communal event and one that will be long remembered. It will continue the now well-established and cherished tradition of collaboration between the South Shore Symphony and the Cathedral of St. Agnes.
