Nancy Daniels

Clarinet Soloist

Clarinetist Nancy Daniels has achieved widespread recognition for the beauty of her sound, her mastery of technique and the versatility of her musicianship. "One of the finest instrumentalists that 1 have ever had the privilege of working with", in the words of conductor Scott Jackson Wiley. Nancy Daniels maintains an intensive performing schedule, including the responsibilities of principal clarinet with the South Shore Symphony, the Massapequa Philharmonic and the Island Chamber Symphony. A founding member of the award-winning woodwind quintet, Four Winds and a Horn, she also performs with the Concert Pops of Long Island and is an active free-lancer.

Ms. Daniels received her BM from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam and her MM from the State University of New York at Stony Brook where she distinguished herself in ensembles under conductors David Lawton and Arthur Weisberg and coaches Samuel Baron and Ronald Roseman. Her principal teachers have been William Blount and David Glazer.
